Altered Hearts is about transformation, through the energy and spiritual powers of natural stones, semi-precious gems, and organic materials.

My early interests in life focused around a passion for ancient societies and archaeological finds. This interest resulted in my obtaining a BA in Anthropology & History (with focus on Women's Studies). From that time forward I channeled my attraction toward the "undiscovered" or "lost", and the power women hold that is much greater than valued by today's society. I only mention this education because this seemed to be a culmination of a life’s worth of interest in all that is ancient, with women as community leaders, priestesses, and shamans. From this experience, I begin my real education in metaphysical studies and higher levels of spiritual awareness.

It’s remembrances of ancient past that I want my designs to instill. I hope to encourage women to consider the wisdom of our ancestral teachers. These designs return us to the feeling of spiritual abundance, of remembrances of echoes of lost places in time. A connection to our soul’s past. A reminder that we are all more than our recent ancestors of grandparents/great grandparents…that there was a time of beginning, of nurturing, of deep appreciation for the earth and its offerings, of KNOWING.

My wire weaving represents the interconnection with our ancestors and the modern version of ourselves. My designs include raw wire (copper mostly), natural stones, semi-precious gems, shells, fossils, and ancient beads, with deep spiritual meanings and powerful messaging of what the wearer can achieve through belief, new engagement into all that is, and a reconnection that has been all but lost.
